Housatonic Habitat to celebrate Earth Day from April 17-21

Savings Specials and Special Events Planned

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity will celebrate Earth Day from April 17-21, with special events and 20%-25% savings on re-purposed household goods at its ReStore, at 51 Austin Street in Danbury. Among the activities:

  • A Realtor ‘Lunch and Learn’ session will be held Thursday focusing on ways to declutter a house before a sale. The speaker will be decluttering expert, Matt Baier, owner of Matt Baier Organizing, LLC of Stamford, CT.
  • WCSU will support Habitat through Western’s Day of Service on Friday where students will help with light construction on a Habitat project and with various tasks at the ReStore.

“This is a very exciting week for us“ said Fran Normann, Executive Director of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity. “Environmentally-friendly recycling and re-use is at the core of our mission of providing affordable housing for hard-working Connecticut families.“

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. By providing decent, affordable, safe housing to qualified regional families, Housatonic Habitat contributes to community revitalization in the greater Danbury region by creating homes that can transform a street and neighborhood and add value to the community.
