It's Anchors Away for Senior Skip'rs at The Hartford Boat Show
Discounted Admission Pass and Special Events for Senior Boaters on the Second Day of the Hartford Boat Show February 10

The second day of The Hartford Boat Show, February 10 has been designated Senior Skip’rs day, and those over 60 can take advantage of a special discounted Skip’rs Day pass for Friday, February 10 for admission 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm for $8. Seminars, demonstrations, personality appearances, and a happy hour, will focus on the recreational activities and lifestyle of senior boaters in Connecticut that day.
Produced by the Connecticut Marine Trades Association (CMTA), The Hartford Boat Show runs February 9-12 at the Connecticut Convention Center, and will feature 150 exhibitors, over 250 boats and watercraft, and cover approximately 180,000 square feet on two floors of the center. All aspects of bating – whether on The Sound, a lake or a river, will be represented, with exhibitors showcasing all types and sizes of boats, jet skis, personal watercraft, paddle sports, kayaks, inflatables, marinas, motors, slip rentals, servicing, fishing gear and tackle, educational programs and materials, insurance, trailers, marine servicing, boating accessories, electronics, sanitation, air conditioning, real estate, attire, nautical home décor, decking, dock building, winter storage, and financing.
“Senior boaters are among the most active and engaged group on the water here in Connecticut, and we are pleased to be able to offer activities and sessions at The Hartford Boat Show that would be of interest and fun for them,” said Kathleen Burns, Executive Director, CMTA.

Educational sessions on February 10 will include Annapolis School of Seamanship presentations, “Docking and Line Handling,” “iNavigation,” and “How to Get Your Captains License;” and Black Hawk Fishing Charters will present “Catch More Winter Cod.”
Susan Tamulevich, Executive Director of the New London Maritime Society will host a special segment on the Light Houses of Long Island Sound and activities and events that will be held throughout the summer.

At 5:00 pm, the Boat Row Happy Hour kicks off in the Tikki Bar area, with live entertainment, refreshment specials, contests and prizes. WHCN 105.9 “The River,” will be live broadcasting from the show, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Throughout The Show, The Paddler’s Paradise Demo Pool, an 800 square foot area also on the second level, will feature a full schedule of demonstrations of kayaks, stand up paddle boards and special paddling activities for adults and children, including some of The Housatonic Model Club’s display of unique sailing models. Seniors and other visitors will have the opportunity to test their skills throughout The Show at the Virtual Fishing Tournament and the Black Hawk Fishing Charter Fighting Chair Challenge.
Tickets for The Hartford Boat Show are now available at www.hartfordboatshow.com. Pre-show online tickets are $10 and a multi-day pass is available at $18 which allows access to the show any two days. The Senior Skip’rs pass for February 10 is $8. Admission on-site at The Show will be $12. Children under 12 accompanied by an adult are free. Group sales for groups over 15 people may be arranged by contacting CMTA Show Staff at 860-767-2645.
The Hartford Boat Show will be open Thursday, February 9 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.; Friday, February 10 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Saturday, February 11 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm; and Sunday, February 12 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
