People’s United Bank and Housatonic Habitat for Humanity teamed together for a first-time home buyer workshop on October 23 at People’s United Bank in Brookfield. The discussion included: the advantages of home ownership, how the mortgage application process works, and first-time home buyer mortgage programs (traditional and the Habitat model). Wes Dupree (Realtor, Dream House Realty) and Ed Milot (ProChek Home Inspection Services), and Antonio Fernandes (Esq., Ventura Law) were on hand to answer questions. The workshop focused on the many different mortgage/loan options available and the mortgage process as a whole.
