Man Caught Breaking Into Cars Led Cops On Foot Chase: Danbury Police

DANBURY, CT — A local man was arrested Monday after he was caught breaking into cars on Somers Street Monday afternoon, according to Danbury police.

Kelvin Martes, 23, of Danbury was seen rummaging through several cars on Somers Street at around, witnesses say. When officers arrived at around 4:20 p.m. , Martes took off and led police on a foot chase through several back yards.

Police say they were able to catch Martes and arrest him after a brief struggle in the Locust Avenue and Cleveland Street intersections.

Martes was charged with criminal trespassing, interfering with a police officer, larceny in the sixth degree and attempted larceny. He was held on a $5,000 bond.
