Man Illegally Reenters Country, Doesn't Register As Sex Offender

The man was last residing in Danbury and was convicted of crimes in state and federal court.

DANBURY, CT — A citizen of Ecuador last residing in Danbury was arrested after he illegally reentered the country and failed to register as a sex offender.

Rodolfo Tepan, 38, was sentenced in state Superior Court to 10 years of prison, execution suspended and five years probation for risk of injury to a minor. He was deported in October 2016, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

He reentered the country illegally and was arrested by Danbury Police on May 12, 2017 for failure to register as a sex offender and was convicted of the offense. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

He pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of reentry of a removed alien and was sentenced to 19 months in prison. His federal sentence will run concurrently with his state sentence.
