Man Struck By Car When Fleeing ICE Now Faces Deportation
He had been visiting the court to be sentenced to two years' probation for misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges.

DANBURY, CT — A man hit by a car while fleeing immigration agents in Danbury on July 6 has been released from the hospital and will face a hearing on an order that he be deported to Mexico, the News Times is reporting.
Samuel Cruz-Coctecon, 25, was released from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries following being struck by a car while fleeing agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)outside state Superior Court in Danbury. He had been visiting the court to be sentenced to two years’ probation for misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges, originating from a February home dispute. Prosecutors had previously dropped a felony charge of risk of injury to a minor as part of a plea deal.
Cruz-Coctecon will now face a hearing on a 2013 order for his removal from the country, and is being held in a detention center in Massachusetts.
