Man Surrenders After Threatening To Burn Down Condo: Danbury Police
A man who threatened to burn down a Danbury condo after a domestic dispute has surrendered to police.
DANBURY, CT — A man who threatened to burn down a condominium complex during a domestic dispute surrendered to law enforcement early Wednesday morning, according to the Danbury Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a man banging on the door and throwing objects at a residence in the Birchwood condominium complex at 27 Crows Nest Lane shortly before 3 a.m.
The first responders learned the disturbance was the result of a domestic disturbance, and the man had since been allowed to enter the residence but threatened to burn down the building.

"According to the complainant, he may also have access to a handgun," Det. Lt. Mark Williams said. "The complainant was able to exit the residence and was not injured."
Negotiators from the Danbury Regional Emergency Services Unit were able to contact the man, and he peacefully surrendered at approximately 6:20 a.m., according to Williams.

The man's identity has not been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
