Mayor Proposes $250 Million Budget: Report
A slight tax rate increase is included in the mayor's proposed 2017-2018 budget for Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — A slight tax rate increase was included in Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton's 2017-2018 budget proposal calling for a $250 million spending plan, reports the News Times.
The budget reflects a 2.5 percent spending increase over the current fiscal year budget. The city's schools budget would increase by 2.25 percent.
Boughton's proposal also freezes salaries for senior staff and calls for no new hires, according to the publication.
