Mom Accused of Beating 5 Kids with Belts, Rods and Cords, Due in Danbury Court Tuesday
Alexandra Aucapina was charged with child abuse after a teacher at her child's school reported the alleged abuse.

A New Fairfield mother is due in Danbury Superior Court on Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing after she was charged with child abuse in August.
Alexandra Aucapina, 27, has five children under the age of 10 and was arrested on Aug. 5, 2014 after a teacher at her child’s school reported the abuse, according to the News Times.
The newspaper reported that police stated a teacher at Meeting House Hill School heard from a parent that Aucapina put her kids’ hands on a hot stove to punish them.

State troopers visited Aucapina’s New Fairfield home where they noticed cuts and bruises on the children’s arms and the lower back of the 9-year-old girl. Reports also stated that detectives found a piece of electrical cable stained with blood.
According to the News Times, the Department of Children and Families removed the five young girls from the home.

According to Danbury Superior Court documents, her charges are as follows:
- ASSAULT 2ND DEG, Class D Felony
- RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD, Class C Felony
- RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD, Class C Felony
- RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD, Class C Felony
- RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD, Class C Felony
- RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD, Class C Felony
- RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, 1ST DEG, Class A Misdemeanor
- RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, 1ST DEG, Class A Misdemeanor
- INTENT CRUELTY-CHILD <19 YEARS, Class D Felony
- INTENT CRUELTY-CHILD <19 YEARS, Class D Felony
- UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT, 1ST DEG, Class D Felony
- UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT 1ST DEG, Class D Felony
Aucapina has pled not guilty to all of the above charges.
