Press release from Santos & Britton 2021:
Sept. 28, 2021
Today we are thrilled to announce that NEA-Danbury has taken the unprecedented step of endorsing our candidacy for 4th Ward City Council. We are two of four candidates to receive their endorsement this cycle and amongst the first to be endorsed by NEA Danbury in over 20 years. Erin Daly, President of NEA-Danbury says "NEA-Danbury is proud to endorse Farley Santos & Joe Britton for 4th Ward City Council. We are endorsing them along with Councilman Roberto Alves for Mayor and Joe Dasilva for Board of Education because together they have demonstrated their commitment to improving education for our students by being ardent advocates for our schools and staff. The needs of our school district have been ignored for nearly 20 years and it's refreshing to have tireless education defenders such as Farley Santos and Joe Britton. They understand that investing in our schools is making an economic investment in Danbury's future and is our moral obligation to Danbury's youth."

We are humbled by the trust that NEA-Danbury has placed in us. As a former and current Danbury Board of Education, respectively, we see the dire needs of our schools. 20 years of inaction have led to overcrowded and underfunded schools. Being ranked 169th out of 169 towns and cities in Connecticut is nothing to be proud of. This inaction hurts our children's future and is a detriment to our local economy. We are firm believers that our schools should be the best and if they are, our children will have every opportunity at a successful life which in return will make our community an even better place to live, work and play. A sound education is the cornerstone to any successful life and is an economic driver for our community. We are proud to have the backs of our educators.
Humbly Yours,
Farley & Joe
