Nominations for Heart of Women Award Now Open

The Women's Business Council, an arm of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, is seeking nominations for its 7th Annual Heart of Women Awards to be held on Thursday, October 26th, at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury.

The Heart of Women Award recognizes women who have made a difference, inspired others and have forever positively impacted the lives of those in the community. Nominees must be a female who either resides, works or whose impact has been felt in the Greater Danbury region - Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman.

Previous recipients have included:

2011 - Jane Martellino, Yes! Grace Rocks 2012 - LouAnn Bloomer, TBICO and Marie Hatcher, Matthew’s Hearts of Hope 2013 - Wilda Hayes (ret'd), Ann’s Place (Honoraria: Pat Llodra, Newtown First Selectman and Janet Robinson, (former) Superintendent of Schools, Newtown) 2014 - Linda Anderson, The Scotty Fund 2015 - Julia Horne, Principal (ret'd), South Street Elementary School 2016 - Dawn Blom, DPZ Dawn's Pizzazz
