Obituary: Edward L Henriques, 89, Of Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Edward L Henriques, age 89, of Danbury, Connecticut passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021. Edward was born to the late Jose and Generosa Henriques on November 29, 1931, in Danbury, CT.

Ed served in the United States Navy before his honorable discharge in 1954. Ed, a long-time Danbury resident, worked at Eagle Pencil for many years before his retirement. Ed was best known as a friend to all who took pride both as a veteran and in his Portuguese heritage. Ed will be greatly missed by his community family and friends.

Edward is predeceased by his loving wife, Eva (Pereira) Henriques, sister Maria Teresa Salgado, brother Joseph Henriques, nephews, Richard Salgado and Thomas Salgado. Ed leaves behind his son, Mark A. Henriques (Patricia), grandchildren, Alex and Ava Henriques. Ed also leaves behind his nephews John and Lou Pereira as well as Eddie and Peter Salgado.

Calling hours for Edward will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury, CT. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 10:30 AM At St. Peter Church, 104 Main St., Danbury, CT. A graveside service will immediately follow at St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave Extension, Danbury, CT.
