Marianne was a beacon of strength even as she fell ill. She was a warrior, fighting to be with her family for as long as she could endure.
DANBURY, CT — Marianne B. Chassey, at the age of 71, departed this Earth on Feb. 7 after a long and valiant fight with kidney disease. Marianne was born on Dec. 6, 1949 to Marion (Schoen) and Vincent Bingham in Danbury. She was raised in Danbury and attended Danbury schools.
Upon her completion of her nursing license, Marianne enjoyed a career filled with joy, bringing life into the world at Danbury Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse. It was one of the greatest accomplishments of her life.
Marianne was lucky enough to marry the love of her life, John Chassey, in 1972. Throughout their 48 years together, they built a life, having three children. She loved her family wholeheartedly. She was fiercely protective and devoted to each of her children. John Jr., Cara and Maribeth have become a testament to the love that Marianne and John exuded. The proof of that lies in the great success that each of their children have had in working in the service to others and the environment.
