Over 1,300 Without Power In Danbury Area
Local towns are contending with several outages and downed trees.

DANBURY, CT — More than 1,100 Eversource customers are without power in Danbury and the surrounding area as a strong storm continues to pummel the state with high wind speeds.
There are 1,121 customers without power in Danbury as of 1:30 p.m., which represents three percent of Eversource's customers in the city. Ridgefield had 212 outages at the same time.
Farther north New Milford had 118 outages and Sherman had more than 400 outages. Other surrounding towns had a dozen to a few dozen outages.

There are more than 15,000 residents without power across the state and the storm is expected to pick up in intensity by mid-afternoon. Some areas have seen gusts in excess of 40 mph. Local authorities and power companies are contending with downed trees and wires across the state.
