DANBURY, CT — Police have identified the man they say killed a woman and then himself on High Ridge Road on Friday.
Santos Infante-Manzanillo, 28, of Danbury, fatally stabbed his partner and then stabbed himself to death when a police officer arrived, according to a statement released by police on Tuesday.
"Investigators cannot be certain as to what led to the event, but it appears the two were in a failing domestic relationship and were separating," Det. Capt. Mark Williams said.

Police based their report on the findings of that investigation, interviewing witnesses, reports from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and evidence collected at the scene, according to Williams.
In a statement released Monday, Danbury Det. Capt. LeRose said a patrol officer heard "a verbal altercation" in the area of High Ridge Road and Scuppo Road around 12:10 a.m. Friday.

Upon investigating, the officer saw a man standing over a woman, lying on High Ridge Road. As the officer exited his police vehicle to render aid, the man "turned toward the officer and proceeded to stab himself in the chest with a large knife," before falling to the ground, according to LeRose. It was then that the officer noticed that the woman had been stabbed several times, "apparently by the adult male."
Police officers and EMS personnel treated the couple at the scene, before they were taken to Danbury Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Police have closed their investigation into the murder-suicide, Williams said.
