Regional Hospice Visits the Danbury Rotary Club

At a recent meeting of the Danbury Rotary Club, Linda Pinckney of Regional Hospice described the facility. The Regional Hospice is one of the shining gems of our community. The facility is remarkably attractive, warm and homey—a far cry from a sterile hospital environment. The Hospice provides in-house and in one’s own home nursing and palliative care for those individuals who are in the last months of their lives. Few seem to realize Medicare has a hospice benefit, and for most of the residents there is no cost at all for this very special care.

If one qualifies for the Hospice Benefit, palliative care can be provided in the comfort of one’s own home, up to 24 hours a day
