Restaurant At Danbury Mall Fails Health Inspection
Restaurants that fail inspection are typically given 24 hours to remedy their problems and must pay a $250 fine.
DANBURY, CT — A restaurant at the Danbury Fair Mall failed its health inspections in December, according to the city's Department of Health and Human Services.
Little Tokyo, also known as Xu's Restaurant, failed on points as well as having two automatic failures, when it was inspected on Dec. 31.
Little Tokyo scored automatic failures for food temperature violations and sub-par hand washing facilities, and low marks for improperly thawed food and improperly stored food dispensing utensils, among other citations. Overall, the eatery scored a 65.

Health inspectors rate commercial kitchens monthly on a 100-point scale in areas such as the availability of suitable hand cleaners and dry towels, whether potentially hazardous food is properly thawed, whether the mats are clean and in good repair, and dozens more. A restaurant must score 80 points or better to pass. Some violations, such as those surrounding the temperature at which food is stored, can result in automatic failures.
