Retired Firefighter Loses Danbury Home In Fire
The house is a total loss after a weekend blaze.
DANBURY, CT — Retired Danbury firefighter and current City Council member Michael Esposito lost his Fleetwood Drive home in a fire over the weekend.
The fire Sunday evening left the house a total loss, according to the News-Times. Firefighters struggled as two nearby fire hydrants were frozen. Hoses had to be stretched more than 1,000 feet to another hydrant.
Esposito saw smoke outside the house and saw the basement was filled with smoke. He quickly got his wife out of the house and called 911. Most of the family's belongings were destroyed.
