Reward For Danbury Man Sought In Brewster Rape Attempt
New York State Police are asking for the public's help.

BREWSTER, NY — New York State Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Hector G. Cruz-Diaz. The 35-year-old Danbury, Connecticut resident is a suspect sought for an attempted rape and burglary.

Troopers were dispatched to a residence on Main Street in Brewster March 20, 2016 for a reported sexual assault. They allege Cruz-Diaz unlawfully entered the victim’s home and attempted to rape a 24-year-old woman, someone he knew. He fled before police got there.
In July of 2017, the Village of Brewster Court issued a warrant ordering the suspect’s arrest. The victim is described as a Hispanic male, 5’3” tall, weighing 140 pounds. Cruz-Diaz has brown eyes and black hair. Cruz-Diaz has previously resided in Danbury and Putnam County, New York.
