Star Witness in Danbury Murder Trial Fails to Identify Suspect: Report
The witness testified she had previously positively identified the suspect in a photo lineup.

DANBURY, CT — A woman who said she saw a man holding a gun after a fight outside of a Danbury night club was unable to identify the murder suspect as the man she saw holding the gun Tuesday, reports the News Times.
The prosecution's star witness, who is in federal custody on conspiracy charges, failed to identify Garfield Sanderson in court as the man who she saw pointing a gun at Jeiel Kingston, who was killed during the incident in May of 2014. Sanderson, of Bridgeport is on trial for Kingston's murder, which allegedly occurred outside of the Mambo Cafe.
Police had responded to the club for a fight, and found Kingston laying on the ground on White Street with wounds in his chest after hearing the gunshots. Sanderson was arrested one week later. The woman testified Tuesday that she had positively identified Sanderson in a photo lineup, but could not do so in the courtroom.
