Suspicious Device Found At Danbury Hospital Garage Led To Stalking Arrest: Police
Investigators later determined the device was a GPS tracker placed on a vehicle.

DANBURY, CT — A suspicious electronic device discovered at a parking garage at Danbury Hospital last year led to a stalking arrest, according to Danbury police.
Danbury police officers responded to the Rizzo Parking Garage at Danbury Hospital on Nov. 6, 2025, after the device was found attached to a wall, police said.
The Danbury Fire Department, the city's Office of Emergency Management and the Stamford Bomb Squad responded to investigate the device.

Hospital safety protocols were also put into place during emergency response, police said.
The Stamford Bomb Squad later determined the device was not hazardous, and Danbury police detectives continued the investigation.

Detectives determined the device was a GPS tracking device that had been placed on a vehicle as part of a domestic stalking incident.
Police said the vehicle's owner discovered the device, removed it from the vehicle and placed it in the parking garage, where it was later reported.
Danbury resident German Lopez-Ortiz, 30, was arrested and charged with electronic stalking as a result of the investigation, police said.
Lopez-Ortiz was held on a $100,000 bond.
