SUV Flips Over, Catches Fire, In Danbury

Fire, Police and EMS​ crews were dispatched to Backus Road for an SUV that had rolled over and caught fire.

DANBURY, CT — Firefighters were called to extinguish a burning car that had rolled over on Backus Avenue near Federal Express.

The 911 call in about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fire, Police and EMS crews were dispatched immediately. First responders found an SUV that had rolled over and caught fire, but its single occupant had managed to escape the crash, uninjured.

Firefighters put the fire out, Police completed the investigation, EMS checked out the driver, and the Fire Marshal investigated the fire.

The road was closed for about 90 minutes while everything was cleaned up.
