Taxes May Increase for Some Danbury Residents
Whether your taxes go up will be determined by the style of your home.

DANBURY, CT — The proposed decrease in Danbury residents' property taxes may not be enough to keep some residents from seeing their tax bills rise this summer. The property revaluations completed last year, upon which the new rates will be based, range from 1.3 to 11.2 percent. The mayor's proposed across the board tax decrease sits at 4.7 percent.
Base property tax rate percentage increases, determined by a home's architectural style, are as follows:
- Antique — 1.5
- Bungalow — 7.3
- Camp — 0.3
- Cape Cod — 7.1
- Colonial — 6
- Conventional — 11.2
- Modern — 7.5
- Raised Ranch — 6.4
- Ranch — 10.7
- Split-level — 10.3
