WCSU Midtown Coffeehouse Schedule Announced for Spring 2018
Admission is free and open to the public, although donations to sustain the Coffeehouse are welcome.

DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University has released its Midtown Coffeehouse schedule for spring 2018. The Coffeehouse will feature a weekly 8 p.m. open mic, followed most weeks at 9 p.m. by a feature act performance, on Thursdays during the spring semester in the Colonial Corner in the Student Center on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Admission is free and open to the public, although donations to sustain the Coffeehouse are welcome.
The Coffeehouse will feature its next performance at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, with pop, acoustic and folk duo Shane and Emily, sponsored by the university’s Program Activities Council (PAC).
Upcoming performers will include:
- Feb. 1: Manifestation, a night of raw, unfiltered emotion through song, spoken word, storytelling and comedic effect featuring Danbury music artist Savion Starks aka “Savy Soul” as the headliner
- Feb. 8: WCSU Jazz Ensemble, a group of student musicians
- Feb. 15: Vocalist and WCSU student Toure Richardson with a mix of R&B, soul, gospel and pop
- Feb. 22: The Whispering Tree, a folk-rock duo band with singer/songwriter Eleanor Kleiner and multi-instrumentalist Elie Brangbour
- March 1: All-Night Open Mic
- March 8: Western Improv Group, WCSU students
- March 22: Emily Barnes, singer/songwriter and guitarist
- March 29: To be announced
- April 5: All-Night Open Mic
- April 12: Black & Mild, consisting of WCSU students Dee Davis, Saige Bryan, Kezia Waters and Kiya Jones
