Wells Fargo Housing Foundation supports Housatonic Habitat for Humanity

The Wells Fargo Foundation recently donated $10,000 toward Housatonic Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building affordable housing in the greater Danbury area. The award was made as a Team Member Volunteer Program grant, in recognition of the volunteer support provided by Wells Fargo team members to Housatonic Habitat. Wells Fargo teams, led by Greater Danbury District Manager Lucille Harriman, 0work with non-profit organizations to create affordable and sustainable housing initiatives that services low- and moderate-income households. Lucille and her team volunteered at our most recent build in New Milford, Conn. and plan to volunteer during our next upcoming build as well.

“We are dedicated to building stronger communities by investing and volunteering in support of neighborhood revitalization efforts,” Harriman said. “To accomplish this mission, we collaborate with established local and national non-profit housing organizations that demonstrate the ability to create affordable and sustainable housing for low-to-moderate income families, seniors and veterans; and revitalize neighborhoods.” Since its inception in 1993, the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation has invested more than $150 million to such efforts, along with mobilizing more than 4.6 million team member volunteer hours to build and rehabilitate more than 5,500 homes and counting.

Housatonic Habitat Board of Directors President, Doug Hensal, said, “We are pleased that the local Wells Fargo district has decided to partner with us in our commitment to help those under-served to become first-time homeowners through our Habitat program. By providing decent, affordable and safe housing to qualified regional families, Housatonic Habitat contributes to community revitalization in the greater Danbury region by creating homes that can transform a street and neighborhood and add value to the community.”
