Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
I value Education and want to give back to the community in which my wife grew up in and my daughters both graduated High School from. Darien has a wonderful school system, but we can make it even better.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Schools have become the catch all for all of societies shortcomings. Mental health, sexuality, gender, feelings, emotions as well as education. I want us to get back to educating children in fundamentals of reading, writing, and math. Schools should provide vehicles for other areas as well, but they should be supports to allow the education to occur, not the focus of education.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My kids have graduated from Darien HS as well as college so I have the view of what it takes to navigate the entire educational process.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My advocacy for education for the past 20 years both on the RTM education committee as well as the Board of Education. I am someone who works in as a perfumer to create fragrances and believe I find creative ways to solve problems.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
My father taught me to work hard, not cut corners and the results with be worth the effort and Mom taught me the golden rule of treat people the way you want to be treated.
