The town outlines how registered Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters can apply, including the role of party committees and the Board of Selectmen in making appointments.
   

• Aquarion To Start Lengthy Water Main Work In Darien: Details (patch.com) — Darien neighborhoods along Middlesex Road, Lantern Lane, Noroton Avenue and Revere Road will see extended water main replacement work starting Oct. 5, with construction stretching into 2027. Residents are advised to expect daytime traffic delays and detours, and are encouraged to use Aquarion's alert system and project contacts to stay informed about disruptions.
   

• Stamford Man Receives Effective Sentence of More Than 18 Years in Prison for Role in Southwestern Connecticut Drug Ring (blogspot.com) — Darien residents are indirectly touched by a major regional drug case that involved searches in town and assistance from Darien police. A Stamford man has received more than 18 years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and PCP across southwestern Connecticut, following a 2024 investigation that seized large quantities of drugs, firearms, and vehicles in several nearby communities.
