Counterfeit Bills Again Passed In Darien: Police
The latest incidents occurred on Nov. 30.

DARIEN, CT — Three suspects allegedly passed counterfeit $50 bills at Gofer Ice Cream and the restaurant 1020 Post in Darien on Nov. 30, according to police. The cases mark the latest attempt by scammers passing counterfeit currency in town in the past few weeks.
At Gofer, the three male suspects ordered ice cream costing less than $6.00 each. "The three suspects payed individually, each using a $50 bill. All three males were given change for their purchase," wrote police in a statement.
At 1020 Post, the three males sat at the bar and each ordered a drink costing $11.70. "The men asked for separate checks, and again paid with a $50 bill. Change was given to all three men."

The United States Secret Service was notified of the counterfeit bills, and the investigation is continuing. In November, a suspect passed counterfeit $50 bills at Darien stores.
