Darien Coronavirus Update: 2nd Death Reported; Cases Reach 127
Statewide, the number of confirmed cases reached 9,784 as of Thursday afternoon, according to state health officials.
DARIEN, CT — A second person in Darien passed away of complications from the new coronavirus (COVID-19) this week, as the the number of confirmed cases in town reached 127 as of Thursday afternoon, according to local and state officials.
Details about the patient were not released, but the individual was above the age of 70.

Statewide, the number of confirmed cases reached 9,784 as of Thursday afternoon, and the death toll rose to 380, according to state health officials.
Darien had the same number of confirmed COVID-19 cases (113) as Fairfield as of Wednesday, but while Darien's number rose to 127 on Thursday, Fairfield's jumped to 141.

New Canaan has reported 11 deaths from COVID-19 as of Wednesday, and 100 confirmed cases. Stamford and Norwalk, respectively, lead the state in the number of confirmed cases, with Stamford exceeding 1,000, and Norwalk approaching 650. The number of coronavirus-related death in Norwalk as of Thursday was 24.
