Darien Coronavirus Update: Total Confirmed Cases Reaches 150

DARIEN, CT — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Darien reached 150 on Friday, with seven new hospitalizations, according to First Selectman Jayme Stevenson. The number of coronavirus-related deaths in town remained at four.

The total number of coronavirus-related deaths eclipsed the 1,000 mark in Connecticut with 1,036 on Friday. More than 16,800 Connecticut residents are confirmed to have the virus, according to state health officials.

Also on Friday, Gov. Ned Lamont announced that Connecticut and CVS Health are partnering in an
initiative that will make free, rapid COVID-19 tests available to eligible Connecticut residents, including the opening of the state's first rapid testing center. The site is located at the former Gateway Community College campus at Long Wharf in New Haven.
