Darien High School Football Team Bakes Pies For The Community
This year marked the eighth annual "Men Making Pies" event.
DARIEN, CT — Darien High School football players recently traded their Blue Wave jerseys and helmets for aprons and mixing bowls to come together and bake pies for the community.
The eighth annual "Men Making Pies" event took place on March 1 at the Darien Depot Youth Center, where the football players made 75 pies, including chocolate cream, pumpkin and key lime.
Rising event chair and all rising senior players delivered the pies to the New Covenant Center in Stamford, Darien Fire Station, Noroton Heights Fire Station, Darien Police Station, Darien EMS Post-53 and to DHS staff.

Members of the team also served dinner at the New Covenant Center later in the week with theis pies served for dessert.
"We are excited to do something for others, serve the community and show our appreciation as our program seeks to build better men," said head coach Andy Grant in an announcement.
