Darien To Honor Fallen Veterans With Wreath Ceremony

DARIEN, CT — The town of Darien will honor fallen veterans with a wreath-laying ceremony at 12 p.m. on Dec. 14 at Spring Grove Cemetary.

The event is part of National Wreaths Across America Day, which remembers the men and women who have served the country, honors the military and their families, and teaches children about freedom and those who protect it.

According to First Selectman Jon Zagrodzky in his bi-weekly newsletter to the community, local veteran and volunteer JC Carter has spearheaded the event in Darien for the last five years; it was previously directed by David and Karen Pollet.

The Wreaths Across America website shows Darien has secured 1,839 wreaths so far with a goal of 2,200.
