Hoyt Street Home Broken into in Darien -- Nothing Known to Have Been Taken

A home on the 100 block of Hoyt Street was burglarized, but the victims haven't found any items missing.

Sometime between 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5 and 6 p.m. Wednesday, a first-floor air conditioner was pulled out of a window of a Hoyt Street home, which was entered, police said.

When residents returned to the home on the 100 block of Hoyt Street, they found the air conditioner on the ground and a rear sliding door open. They weren’t sure whether someone was still in the house, so they called police, who checked and found no one.

Numerous drawers in a first-floor study had been rifled through, and several other drawers throughout the home had been opened and gone through.

At the time of the initial police report, the residents hadn’t noticed anything missing.
