DARIEN, CT — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Darien for 2023.
We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Darien so you can start planning now.

When: Tuesday, July 4, 9 a.m.
The patriotic parade will feature children riding bikes, scooters, wagons and non-motorized vehicles.
The parade will begin at 9 a.m. from Darien High School and end at the VFW Post at 205 Noroton Ave.
Where: Darien High School
When: Friday, July 14, gates open at 6:30 p.m.
Darien's annual fireworks display will take place at Darien High School on July 14, with a rain date of July 15.
Live music will be provided by the Darien Community Band, and local food trucks will be on-site. There will also be face painting for kids, and a sensory-friendly location for viewers. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.

What: Stamford's annual July 4th fireworks show
Where: Cummings Beach
When: Friday, June 30, 6 p.m.
Entertainment will begin at 6 p.m., and residents will be able to bring blankets and chairs to the beach. There will be food trucks on-site, and the fireworks will begin shortly after 9 p.m.

What: New Canaan 42nd annual Family Fourth of July Celebration
Where: Waveny Park
When: Friday, July 1, 5 p.m.
According to a news release provided by the town, gates will open at 5 p.m. on July 1. Rain dates have been set for July 2 or July 8.
Activities will include family picnicking, several gourmet food trucks, kids inflatable bounce houses and live music, including Mind the Gap from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and the Town Band from 7:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. A spectacular fireworks display is scheduled to start soon thereafter.

What: Greenwich's July 4th fireworks displays
Where: Binney Park and Greenwich Point
When: Saturday, July 1. Binney Park at 9:10 p.m., Greenwich Point at 9:35 p.m.
Greenwich will once again host two fireworks displays. If the shows are rained out as they were in 2022, a makeup date is scheduled for Sept. 2 or Sept. 3.
Regular entry rules for Greenwich Point will apply. Vehicular access to the park closes at 8 p.m. or earlier if parking capacity is reached. Park passes are not required for entrance to Binney Park.

What: Greenwch's annual July 4th ceremony
Where: Greenwich Town Hall
When: Tuesday, July 4, 9 a.m.
The ceremony will feature an American flag raising and a salute to the patriots who served during the American Revolution. There will be music, and an American flag birthday cake for all to enjoy after the ceremony.
