More Unlocked Vehicles Burglarized In Darien: Police
The latest in the continuing saga of thieves preying upon unlocked vehicles throughout the community.

DARIEN, CT — Darien police are investigating break-ins to five vehicles parked at homes throughout the town over the past few weeks. In three of the cases, the vehicles were left unlocked, and in the other two the owners could not remember if the vehicles were left unlocked but officers found no signs of forced entry.
All but one of the burglaries occurred over the weekend; the fifth, in which a 2007 Toyota Prius was burglarized at a home on Herman Avenue, occurred sometime in February while the owner was out of the country.
In addition to these break-ins, two vehicles were reported stolen in Darien over the weekend, in what are the latest in the continuing saga of thieves preying upon unlocked vehicles throughout the community.

The other four break-ins occurred on Sunset Road (2017 BMW X5); Allen O'Neil Drive (2017 Toyota Highlander); Fairfield Avenue (2016 Subaru Outback); and Lake Drive (2014 Honda Accord).
Stolen were cash ($600 from one vehicle), loose change, phone charger and other items. The vehicles' center consoles or glove compartments were also rifled through, according to police.
