3 Men Found Shot Inside Car In Darien: CT State Police
CT State Police have been conducting an investigation after authorities said three people were found wounded in a car in Darien Wednesday.

DARIEN, CT — One man has died and two others remain injured following a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning on Interstate 95, according to an update Wednesday evening from the Connecticut State Police.

Three men inside a car were shot and wounded while traveling southbound on Interstate 95 between Bridgeport and Darien early Wednesday morning, according to police.

The men were found inside a car in Darien at 3:42 a.m., police said. The car had exited I-95 at exit 10, and was seen driving slowly southbound on Noroton Avenue in the area of Maple Street when it was stopped by a Darien police sergeant.
"Upon further investigation, it was found that the vehicle was traveling on I-95 Southbound between Bridgeport and Darien when another vehicle came along side and began to fire gunshots," Trooper First Class Pedro A. Muñiz said in a news release.
The discovery in Darien prompted the closure of Maple Street at Noroton Avenue. Police said there's no threat to the public at this time, and the roadway will be closed for an extended period as the Connecticut State Police and the CSP Western District Major Crime Squad conduct their investigation.
Additionally, I-95 southbound from exit 18 in Westport to exit 10 in Darien was closed for a period of time Wednesday morning because of the investigation, but it reopened in the afternoon.
Darien police said in a news release that two men were transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.
Darien police said there's no indication a crime took place in Darien.
