The legislature’s Regulations Review committee examines the regulations coming out of Washington DC that apply to state agencies. However, the prime responsibility of the committee is to make sure the state regulations that are written match the legislative intent.

Wood’s role on the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding will see her overseeing all matters relating to finance, revenue, capital bonding, fees and taxation. The committee is also responsible for employer contributions for unemployment compensation and all matters relating to the Department of Revenue Services and the revenue aspects of the Division of Special Revenue.

“I am very pleased to be chosen by Rep. Klarides as one of her Assistant Republican Leaders,” said Rep. Wood. “I look forward to my new role within the caucus as well as continuing my work as Ranking Member on Human Services.”

The 2015 legislative session begins on Jan. 7.
