Update On 'Big Nor'easter' Track And Its Impact To Connecticut This Weekend

New computer models shed light on what impact the powerful offshore storm will have on Connecticut this weekend.

Phew. Connecticut residents can breathe a sigh of relief as a powerful Nor’easter appears to be staying just south of the state on Saturday, which means we may only see some light rain showers late tonight and Saturday morning and some wind. It could have been a lot worse, according to the National Weather Service.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan provides the latest update Friday morning via social media. “That big offshore nor'easter this weekend is expected to miss. Not a perfect weekend but it could be a lot worse!” He then adds, “Flood risk to the south of us tonight and tomorrow. We are lucking out here.”

Again, Saturday won’t be a great summer weather day, but quiet beats a Nor’easter anyday. If you do have weekend plans, Sunday is the much better day.
