Vehicles Burglarized At Darien's Holmes School: Police
The incidents were reported on different days last week.

DARIEN, CT — Two vehicles had their windows smashed last week in burglaries last week at Holmes School on Hoyt Street in Darien, according to police, two of four vehicle burglaries reported in town from Oct. 2 through Oct. 5.
In the first incident at Holmes, a 2016 Honda HR was reportedly broken into on Oct. 2.
"The vehicle owner, working in the school, stated she parked her vehicle in the lot after eating lunch at approximately [1 p.m.]," wrote Darien police in a statement. "At [3:30 p.m.], the vehicle owner returned to her vehicle and found the front-passenger’s side window smashed. Missing from her vehicle was approximately $100 in cash, a purse valued at $300, a pair of sunglasses valued at $200, a second pair of sunglasses valued at $300, credit cards, and a driver’s license."

The second break-in at the school was reported on Oct. 3 when a 2016 Subaru Impreza was burglarized.
"The victim, an employee of the school, stated she parked her vehicle in the lot at approximately [8:20 a.m.]," wrote police, adding that both incidents remain under investigation. "She was notified at [1 p.m.] by a third party in the school that her vehicle’s window had been smashed. The front passenger’s window had been smashed, and taken from the vehicle was approximately $30 in cash, a wallet valued at $100, two credit cards, 10 checks, a dress, a purse valued at $200, and a driver’s license."

Last week's two other burglaries were from unlocked vehicles, according to police.
On Oct. 3, an unlocked 2016 Nissan Pathfinder, parked for just a few minutes at 780 Post Road, was entered.
"The victim stated she parked her vehicle, walked to the Post Road to hang a sign, and returned to her car. Upon her return, she saw her purse had been taken. Taken was a bag and wallet valued at $300, driver’s license, car keys, sunglasses valued at $100, credit cards, and an iPhone," wrote police.
On Oct. 5, also in the parking lot at 780 Post Road, an unlocked 2016 Audi was entered.
"The victim stated her purse was taken from her unlocked car. She explained she parked her vehicle and went into 780 Post Road for approximately 3 minutes. When she came out, she discovered her purse missing. Taken was a bag valued at $200, a bag valued at $148, car keys, $100 in cash, a driver’s license, passport, and several credit cards."
