DURHAM, CT — Carolyn Adams Country Barn, a fixture on Main Street in Durham for decades, is closing and owner Carolyn Adams is retiring, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.
Adams, 91, opened the popular furniture store 42 years ago, and says she's still not ready to retire. Initially, the store was dedicated to lighting fixtures and equipment.
The store is slated to close in by late January, and Adams' daughter, Alana Adams, will take over the site for a new business, according to the publication.
