Middlefield Police Advertise to Fill Administrative Position

The part-time job is for two days a week.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT - The Middlefield Police Department is seeking a part-time secretary to work two days per week for a total of 10 hours a week.

Department officials posted an advertisement for the position this week on the town's website.

"The purposes of the Police Secretary are to provide confidential clerical and administrative support services for the Police Department/State Troopers assigned to Middlefield," officials wrote. "The work involves attention to details to maintain records, files, pistol permits, vacation requests and DUI Grant and DARE Program. The days of the week are flexible – once appointed the days will be set so citizens know when there is someone in the office. One of the days will include afternoon hours till 6pm to serve residents after their work day."

The job's start salary ranges from $15.65 to $16.93/hour depending on qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Qualified applicants will have a High School degree and "two years of administrative, clerical and customer service experience in a similar type of environment."
