Middlefield Selectmen Reportedly to Decide Fate of Town's Building Official
The board held a public hearing Tuesday to discuss the actions of Robert Meyers involving the Powder Ridge ski resort.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT β The Board of Selectmen listened to comments Tuesday from residents and business owners for and against Robert Meyers remaining Middlefield's building official, and the group will now decide his fate, reports the Hartford Courant.
Meyers is in hot water with some town officials - and the owners of the Powder Ridge ski resort - over the way he reportedly mishandled a renovation project at the recreational facility and its inspections.
No time table was given Tuesday for when the board will make a decision on Meyers' job status, but First Selectman Edward Bailey told the Courant that he did not believe Meyers and his supporters offered enough evidence to prevent his dismissal.
