100 CT WWII Veterans Visit WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. - Join the Patriotic Homecoming at Bradley Airport or E. Hampton VFW Post 5095

This Saturday, April 27th, American Warrior's Day of Honor will fly 100 WWII and 2 Korean Veterans, 45 volunteer Guardians and medical personnel on a day trip to Washington DC, to see their Memorials for the first time, 68 years after the end of the war.  This will be the ninth trip with a total of 930 Veterans sent in just 5 years.

American Warriror's founder, Christopher Coutu, stated, "This is truly our last chance to say Thank You to the "Greatest Generation".  This is their final wish and we make it a reality."

Veterans from 50 Connecticut communities will arrive at Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks at 7 a.m., and then board a USAir flight into Reagan National Airport.

Upon arrival in Washington D.C., Veterans will receive a patriotic homecoming.  The Veterans will then get a motorcycle escort to the WWII Memorial and lay a wreath at the Connecticut pillar in memory of those Connecticut Veterans who were unable to see their Memorial.  They will enjoy lunch at the Memorial and then visit the Navy, Korean, Marine Corp and Air Force Memorials.

The Veterans will leave Washington D.C. and arrive back at Bradley at 8pm.  The homecoming will take place at Bradley Airport and will include the Marquis of Granby Fyfe and Drum, Governors Foot Guard and 1940s Glamour Girls.  We invite the public to join hundreds of supporters and provide these heroes with the homecoming they deserve.  "This is a once in a lifetime patriotic experience for families, students and friends.  This might be the final time for 100 Connecticut WWII Veterans to come home.  Please help us by providing the homecoming these American Heroes deserve", stated Christopher Coutu.

This trip is free of charge to the Veterans.  Individual sponsors, organizations and student fundraising events have contributed $250 per Veteran to support this flight.  AmericanWarrior is an all-volunteer organization.

Fowler-Dix-Park VFW Post 5095 and their Ladies Auxiliary will host a homecoming for 2 East Hampton WWII Veterans upon their return from the airport (approx 9-9:30pm).
