VOTE "NO" for the new school building project. What started out as a renovation of certain class rooms grew into a $40million+ "new" school. We're told the State will contribute about 50%...which is doubtful given the budget problems...but even $20 million is too much for the taxpayers of East Hampton to shoulder. Somehow or other this whole building episode slipped through most of us...our fault as we could have appeared at the many meetings that were held and voiced our disapproval. However, it is still not too late as a "NO" vote means there will have to be another attempt at a different time. Besides, our student body isn't growing, I don't see teachers leaving for greener pastures and above all, wasn't our town school recently voted as one of the best in the state?
