The Advertising Club of Connecticut will host an Advertising & Marketing Job Fair Wednesday, April 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 100 Berlin Road, Cromwell. The annual event, which is open to the public, affords opportunities to meet with leaders in the advertising and marketing industry and to learn of employment opportunities available on a statewide level. Participants include representatives from companies in television, radio, ad agencies, design studios, public relations, printing and more. The job fair is free to those who pre-register online at http://www.adclubct.org. Walk-ins are welcome for a $5 donation that will be put toward the club’s Rob Branham Scholarship Fund. Those who pre-register for the job fair can receive free professional resume reviews and suggestions for improvement. Bring multiple resume copies if interested, and pre-register by e-mailing admin@adclubct.org. Reviews will begin at noon and each will take 15 minutes. In addition, student portfolio reviews will be conducted by industry leaders in advertising, graphic design, copywriting, and marketing. Students should bring three to five examples of their best work, and marketing students should be prepared to present an integrated campaign, even if it’s fictional. The job fair will also feature round table discussions and seminars led by experts from the industry who have volunteered their services for the event. Seminars will provide attendees with the tools they need to land a job, get a better job, or just to stay in demand in today’s marketplace. Topics include “The Do’s and Dont’s of Networking;” “Personal Branding;” and “Persuasion Based Web Design.” . The Advertising Club of Connecticut is the largest professional marketing and advertising association in the state. Founded in 1913, the club marks its 100th anniversary this year.
