ART EXHIBIT BY BOB DESAULNIER

Artist Bob Desaulnier will be exhibiting his paintings at both the East Hampton Town Hall and the East Hampton Library for the remainder of the month of February. Bob was born in 1946 and is a lifelong resident of CT.  He is a self-taught artist and works in Watercolor and Gouache.  Nature is his primary subject.

His artist’s statement reads: “Simplicity is central to my conception of beauty.  I paint to create an image that lifts the spirit and/or awareness.  Each painting is a manifestation of the energy invested in an idea and suggests connections between the physical and metaphysical realms (as metaphor or symbol).  Therefore, my work often contains a noticeable degree of abstraction.  The picture plane functions as a surface on which the idea of something is expressed, rather than as a window looking out on nature.”

Bob is am a member of the Connecticut Watercolor Society (CWS), the West Hartford Art League, and the Marlborough Arts Center.
