Don’t let Linda buy YOUR voteBy Don Dallas

Three major newspapers can’t be wrong. All three --- the Connecticut Post, the New York Times, and the Norwich Bulletin --- have already endorsed Democratic Congressman Chris Murphy for U. S. Senate to fill the seat of retiring Joe Lieberman.  The three newspapers essentially warn readers not to let wrestling magnate millionaire Linda McMahon buy your vote, but rather to vote for a reliable, strong Chris who has a proven excellent record.Don’t let Linda buy your vote!  It should be the slogan for the rest of the campaign.Annoyed at the sickening advertising of the McMahon campaign, the New York Times had this to say:“she is spending at least $27 million. Representative Christopher Murphy, the Democratic candidate, has been trying to break through her attack ads, which blanket Connecticut airwaves.”  By way of contrast, the Times adds, “Mr. Murphy, a thoughtful and productive public servant, spent nearly six solid years in Congress, with an almost perfect voting record.”The Connecticut Post was sharper in its criticism of Linda:“She is inescapable on television, in the mail, on the Internet… It's a barrage of sound bites, context-free quotes and accusations, many of them baseless……Three years she's been running for Senate, mostly by tearing down other people's accomplishments, and yet she has so little to offer herself.”
And the Norwich Bulletin was even stronger:
“her campaign at times resembles her WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) business model — tightly scripted and void of any substance, no basis in reality and designed strictly for entertainment …”
Having poured at least $27 million in her campaign, wildly more than Chris, the wrestling czar has truly brought Connecticut politics to a new low.
Don’t let Linda buy YOUR vote!
