FREE SCREENINGS FOR VETERANS

Most veterans are at a 25-50% higher risk for lung cancer than their civilian counterparts, due to smoking history and exposures to known carcinogens, including Agent Orange.

 

The Middlesex Hospital Total Lung Care Center is offering a free risk assessment to local veterans at several locations in November. If the risk assessment determines that a low dose CT scan is needed, staff will help those veterans figure out how to get it done. All veterans who feel they could be at high risk are encouraged to attend one of the following screenings:

The screening and testing are free. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. No pre-registration is required. The screenings are being held in collaboration with the Lung Cancer Alliance and the Vietnam Veterans of America.
