Sarah Larson Wins 40 Under Forty Award

Sarah Larson, a web developer at Miranda Creative and East Hampton native, was named a local 40 Under Forty Award Recipient this week. The award is sponsored by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce and The Day. Sarah Larson is one of 40 special young people being honored for making positive contributions to their local communities. 

Sarah Larson has worked at Miranda Creative, an advertising agency in Norwich, CT, for the past two years as a web designer, developer and graphic designer. She holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Digital Art & Design from Eastern Connecticut State University, received in 2011; and is a graduate of Connecticut’s East Hampton High School.

Larson holds numerous awards honoring her innovative website designs. Sarah’s creation of the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital internal news portal LMFirsthand.org earned her a Gold Lamplighter award from the New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCO) in 2012. Sarah also holds an Award of Excellence from NESHCO, an Award of Excellence in Digital Art & Design from Eastern Connecticut State University, as well as numerous scholastic achievement awards from throughout her academic career.

Larson, along with the other award recipients, will be recognized early next year at the 1st Annual Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty Award celebration. The event will take place at MGM Grand in Foxwoods Resort Casino on Friday January 18 2013.This event honors citizens of southeastern Connecticut under the age of forty who consistently demonstrate excellence in their profession, as well as leadership, commitment, and service to the region.
