Absentee Ballot Process: What You Need to Know
Absentee ballots are available for any election, primary or referendum.
Every election year (except 2008) I have often lamented the poor voter turnout in our area and across the Nation.
The most important votes we cast however, are done on issues that affect you locally. Too bad our town budgets do not achieve a 80 percent turnout rate. In fact, we often hear that 40 percent is a good turnout. I have a feeling, this year will be different. Of course, I am counting on you to show up and support me this November!!
In order to ensure all registered voters have an opportunity to cast their ballot--I provide several links on my blog --please visit me there! You will find a lot of great information about the 34th District we all love!

How do I apply to vote by absentee ballot?
You can obtain an application from any Town Clerk's Office, or you can simply print off the one I provide on my blog and MAIL it in to your Town Hall--Attn:Town Clerk. After the completed application is received by the Town Clerk, the absentee ballot will be sent to you at the address specified on the application. Simply fill in your votes as desired and return promptly to your Town Clerk. Your vote stays sealed until Election Day and even then the process to open the ballot ensures that your vote is CONFIDENTIAL!! Absentee ballots are sent out 4 weeks before an election. In order for your vote to count, the completed absentee ballot must be received in the Town Clerk’s Office by Election Day. After the ballots become available, you may also appear at the Town Clerk’s Office in person, show identification, complete the application, and cast your ballot.
As you can see it is EASY to vote--please exercise your right to do so! For additional questions about Absentee Ballots, please contact your Town Clerk. Also located on my blog, you will find links to each town in the 34th where you will find their contact information. Check it out and thanks so much for your support! Every vote really does count and I am counting on yours.
